Major General Tarek Rashid, Governor of Sohag, has instructed the Internal Audit and Governance Department to conduct surprise inspections at all hospitals in the governorate. These decisions follow recent events at Sohag General Hospital. Accordingly, the governor’s vision seeks to develop security and behavioral standards in parallel with the medical system.

The governor emphasized the sanctity of medical facilities as public institutions that must not be violated. Rashid stressed that any attack on medical staff will be met with immediate legal action. In coordination with security authorities, legal proceedings will be initiated against any offender.
